I’ve just celebrated a significant college reunion. (I’ll leave it to the detectives among you to figure out what year and do the math.) At any rate, I was thrilled that an essay of mine appeared in the Princeton Alumni Weekly’s Reunions Guide for this particular weekend. The essay, “When the shoe fits,” can be found online here (on page 22.)
If Reunions are over, then summer is just about here, and here’s what I’ve got on tap, writing-wise:
During the third week of June, I’ll be at the Writers at Work conference in Park City, Utah. I’ve been in southeastern and southwestern Utah. I’ve driven across the state. But I’ve never been that far north, and I’m looking forward to encountering some new geography. I’m also looking forward to the nonfiction workshop with Abigail Thomas and my fellow writers, along with a host of panels and readings. An excerpt from my memoir was a finalist in the conference fellowship competition.
After that, I hope to come home inspired and ready to put together a few applications to low-residency MFA programs and to begin the next leg on my memoir journey. Here’s hoping there’s a summer breeze at your back, too, in the months to come.
Peace.
